FULGURITE
Fulgurite
Sahara
Fulgurite (from the latin fulgur meaning lightning) is produced by the impact of lightning on sand. The intensity of the lightning melts the silica of which it is mainly composed (natural glass). Its generally tubular shape (hollow and almost cylindrical) is due to fusion processes during impact.
