«space popcorn»

"space popcorn" is a peridot aggregate partially isolated from its metallic core. The outer part, transformed in this particular case into limonite, has been completely dissolved.

Only a small part of the fall preserved in this way allows this presentation! The rest, as usually encountered, is generally marketed "sawn / polished".

From this rare and unusual conservation, our laboratories have even succeeded in isolating for the first time "3D" crystals of chromite, whereas this mineral was only known from elements visible on sections, never in real form of crystals .......
